But, I did. Forget your birthday that is. And marry you and give birth to your children too.
I'm sorry. I'm incredibly thoughtless sometimes.
I could make lots of excuses as to why I forgot your birthday, but I won't talk about the fact that we are leaving for a 3 week vacation in less than a week and I'm starting finals week at school and that I wasn't even sure today was Saturday, much less the 8th of December which just so happens to be your birthday.
No, I won't make excuses.
I'll just say sorry.
Then I will try to divert your hurt feelings by posting this wonderful photo of you that was taken at the Australia versus Argentina soccer match on the 11th of September. You know, that game that I knew you REALLY wanted to see, because as a kid you always followed Argentina soccer and now as an adult you live in Australia and now are a die-hard socceroo fan? You know, that game that I had to talk you into spending the money on something that was just for yourself? Because, you are so incredibly selfless sometimes. I don't even remember how much the tickets cost, but I do remember you saying that maybe we should take that money and buy a new toy for the girls or all go out and do something together as a family instead of just you getting to go do something.
That is why I love you.
Because, if you gave me some money and said, go get a pedicure or a massage or something just for you.
I would not hesitate and think it was selfish. I would be out the door the second that money passed from your hot little hand to mine.
And now, my darling, I will go and buy you a birthday cake and some ice cream.
Cake and ice cream make everything better.
Happy birthday, my darling.

Happy birthday Fernando!!!
Sometimes life gets busy and we need a surprise to slow us down and remember the important things. Enjoy the birthday cake and ice cream and having each other.
Oh, your so cute! Don't worry about forgetting, blame it on the kids. With each one, you loose half a brain (or at least I hope you do because that would explain my common stupid quirks)
I haven't read your blog in a while, sorry. That is awesome that you talked to a Mormon missionary, especially to hear his accent. So cute. I'm glad you were nice to him :)
Good luck on the trip! I know how you feel about laundry and stuff. It is AMAZING how much extra you bring with kids, especially babies. We'll be in Utah for three weeks at my in-laws and I'm not looking forward to packing at all. Ugh.
happy birthday, fernando. wish i could say so in person, but you know i love you. hope it was a good one.
Happy Bday Fern. Your bday mate Harrison had a good one, I hope you did too!!
Haha, I thought I had clicked on a different link to my friend Lisa's blog. I was like -- what? You're married? And to a Sri Lankan looking guy? This is amazing! I had no idea! But then I kept reading about Australia and peaced my insanity together to make one coherent thought to bring me back to Earth. I always love checking in with you though. I love your writing style.
