Procrastination and things to do

Both of these photos are fairly old. They were taken at least six months ago, but were never posted, so here you go. My little darlings, making faces at themselves while we were taking the train to the city.
Have I mentioned that we leave for Sri Lanka in exactly one week?
Well, we do.
Have I mentioned that we will be gone for three entire weeks?
Because, we will.
How does one pack for a three week vacation for a family of four???
I don't know about you guys, but if I wore every single outfit in my summer wardrobe once and once only, I would not have enough clothing to last for 3 entire weeks. I would run out of undies by day eight.
I realize the answer to this problem is doing laundry in Sri Lanka which does not really appeal to me because we are on VACATION.
Vacation and laundry should never ever be mentioned in the same sentence.
EVER.
Have I also told you that I have a few things to do in the next week???
Because, I do.
And guess what this means?
Oh yeah. A list. Don't you love me?
1. Laundry (because, you know, clothes should be clean before you pack them)
2. Pack
3. Hem 2 pairs of pants for my husband.
4. Fix the side seam in one of my shirts.
5. Fix a seam in a pair of my capri pants.
6. Do one rather long homework assignment.
7. Do one shorter homework assignment.
8. Study for two tests.
9. Put up the Christmas tree. (even though we won't be here for Christmas, the girls feel it is a crime to forgo the tree)
10. Catch up on a bunch of blog posts before the blog goes silent for 3 weeks.
11. Buy travel size toiletries.
12. Get a haircut. ( A problem of it's own. I have no idea how I want it cut, I just know it needs to be cut.)
13. Return library books.
14. Sleep.
15. Eat. (Who am I kidding? I don't need to be reminded to eat.)

One week!
So close!
So exciting!
So... so... List-y!

No event would be complete without your list. ;) Hope you aren't stressing too much. You'll get it all done. All the important bits will be done, at least.

I'm thinking you need to just take the regular size toiletries though. Three weeks! You might run out with just a travel size.

I hope you all have a "Very Merry Christmas!!!"

I am behind on getting my Christmas cards out and who knows if I ever will. So just in case I don't, plus you will be gone anyway, I will wish you Happy Holidays via your blog. How 21st century of me, right?

Much love and happiness to you and your family!
